The Grainges car park in Uxbridge has been given a climate friendly make-over after the installation of a new energy-saving lighting system by Commulite.
Work on the new ‘intelligent’ lighting was completed at the end of 2022 and provides significant benefits of better safety for the visitors as well as helping the council with it’s energy-saving ambitions.
Commulite’s 24-volt system will produce energy savings of 53,050 kw/hour per year as well as saving 10.23 tonnes of carbon emissions. The system is remotely monitored with each of the 707 luminaire individually programmable to the optimum light level at all times of the day and night, providing optimal energy savings whilst maintaining safe light levels for the visitors.
Cllr Eddie Lavery, Cabinet Member for Residents’ Services said,
“This was a timely overhaul of a lighting that was past it’s best and it has now been replaced with a modern, safer and more energy-efficient system. We are committed to creating a sustainable borough that is carbon neutral. Projects like this form a key contribution towards achieving it”
We at Commulite are happy to be providing safer environments whilst safeguarding our future with sustainable solutions.
