Every luminaire is an emergency luminaire
Safe lighting is paramount in your buildings and Commulite gives you and your residents absolute peace of mind in any situation. Commulite systems are designed to comply with BS5622 for emergency lighting and with CIBSE guide for the appropriate light in all areas. In the event of a power out situation all luminaires are emergency, providing an homogenous light level throughout the building, with no dark areas, providing residents with a fully illuminated escape route and less cause for panic in the event of an emergency.
It also removes the risk of non-compliance due to having too few, or incorrectly spaced and positioned emergency lights. Compliance is guaranteed.
9 hours of emergency lighting performance
Commulite emergency capacity was designed to meet the requirements of BS5266, which is a minimum of 3 hours. After a standard annual duration test, most emergency lights are unable to guarantee emergency light capability until the batteries have recharged. This renders the emergency lighting system unusable and untested, in the event of a true emergency. Commulite has removed this issue completely.
The intelligent control of both our system luminaires and the low voltage power means we have been able to extend our emergency capacity to beyond the statutory minimum. Which allows for evacuations of residents and recovery by the Fire service in more difficult situations (which may be effected by a “Stay put” policy).
In addition, there may be circumstances where the power is out for a non-emergency reason, this is a more common (frequent) event. 9 hours emergency light ensures all residents will be comfortable through-out the night, whilst also reducing the risk of accidents or incidents associated with having no lighting in stairwells and corridors.
It also allows more time for engineers to be mobilised to attend any necessary repairs.
By designing a system that surpasses the minimum standard, we have also future-proofed your investment against any upgrades to legislation which may occur.
Remote monitoring & emergency testing 24/7/365
There’s no ambiguity with our luminaires and you will always know that they will work in an emergency as our system remotely monitors all luminaires 24/7/365.
The system also provides automatic monthly and annual duration testing (we usually carry out two duration tests per year). The test results are sent to text and email addresses of your choice. So you never need to worry about arranging, logging or filing your compliance test and reports, the system does all that for you automatically.
Automatic luminaire status monitoring, diagnostics & status alerts, without ever having an engineer visit site
The Commulite control panel monitors the status of every luminaire in a building, 24-hours a day. It automatically sends email or text notifications to your nominated personnel whenever any status condition varies, meaning issues never need go unreported or unresolved.
You will always know that all luminaires are working in normal (non-emergency) use too. Any problems will automatically generate a notification and report, eliminating the need for any electricians to attend following a resident’s complaint. You will already know.
Our unique remote monitoring system allows all emergency light testing to be carried out and data-logged without even visiting site. Meaning you never have to source hire and manage engineers to visit your sites to do inspections. And you will have complete peace of mind knowing that all testing has been done correctly and is completely compliant.
Our remote monitoring system takes the guess work out of emergency light testing, making it a simple, reliable and fully auditable process. The web portal allows you to view and download test results for all your Commulite installations.
Cloud based access
All reporting information for all your Commulite systems are stored on a secure cloud based platform. This portal is unique to Commulite and can only be accessed via a secure login (of your choice). Unlike other systems, Commulite’s system is OPEN Protocol and does not need any expensive programming or training to use.
This also means that you are free to select any contractor to install and maintain your installation,
(Commulite will provide FOC training) and will not be obliged pay the often expensive fees which apply to CLOSED protocol systems.
ZERO maintenance on luminaires
Our luminaires require no maintenance as we have eliminated all potential maintenance problems. There are no batteries, chargers or invertors, so there is nothing that requires maintenance and that is guaranteed. This makes Commulite almost impossible to disable by vandals.
Every luminaire is sealed against dust and water, meaning that they will not suffer from water ingress once the sprinklers are on, and so you will have no issues of lights shorting or tripping out.
Sustainable lighting with zero recycling costs
Commulite is a member of the Lumicom accredited WEEE directive scheme. All Commulite components are individually bar coded and at the end of their working life they are returned to Commulite for recycling at no extra cost.
In addition Commulite will also recycle all old redundant luminaires removed from your building free of charge, saving you on the cost and inconvenience of skip hire and removal of waste.
