The image shows, on the right, a light fitting that we have upgraded with a new gear tray and high efficiency LED lights. The original unmodified fitting is on the left. Not only is the Commulite fitting brighter, it gives better quality, “crisper” light and will require NO MAINTENANCE for at least 5 years. It also uses significantly less power – the fitting on the left uses 4 incandescent 35W lamps, the Commulite fittings on the right are 2 x LED strips running off just 10W each.
This means that if these fittings were to run for 10 hours/day, every day, for a whole year, the one on the left would use almost £92 worth of electricity (at an assumed electricity price of 18p/kWh). By contrast, the Commulite fitting would cost just £13.14 to run. For a 200-fitting installation this would equate to a saving of over £15,000 every year – that is lighting that performs!
